Camp I Am held its second annual Model United Nations Debate for Orange Farm secondary schools. The topic was Leadership and the Role of Young People in the World Today. Seven schools competed for bragging rights as the best orators, and the top three teams walked away with prizes worth over 40,000 rands.
The debate was the culmination of the Camp I Am school holiday program, which runs in Orange Farm and has grown to a loyal 400 campers from almost 30 primary and secondary schools in the area. The program caters to children 7-15 years old and teaches life skills. It prepares young people for their roles as active citizens while providing a fun-learning experience during the school holidays.
