Kai Crooks-Chissano is the creator and Executive Director of Camp I Am. She is a strategic communications and content development specialist with over 20 years experience working in the international development sector as an Advisor for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), a UNDP Officer, and consultant to several other UN agencies (UNICEF, UNESCO, UNFPA), multilateral, bilateral, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and
Lead facilitator and management team member. She has been with the Camp since 2012 and is studying Education at UNISA.
Khafra is a St Stithians College (Johannesburg) old boy and University of Nottingham, UK, alumnus. He is a strategy and innovation professional with experience building coalitions by designing, developing, implementing and managing content for social media platforms, programs and projects in the not‐for-profit sector. Khafra is the designer and webmaster of the Camp I Am website.
Mariah Tshabalala is part of the Camp I Am Management Team and coaches the grades 4-5 groups. She hails from Orange Farm in Johannesburg South and joined the team in 2012 when she worked at Rekgutlile Primary School for the Extra School Support Programme (ESSP) under the Gauteng Department of Education. Mariah is studying Primary Health at the South West Gauteng College.
